International Yoga festival - A Glance

FEATURES  

     Puducherry – the spiritual land where many Siddhars and Saints attained salvation. In this beautiful and peaceful spiritual land, many research works were done on Yoga and two Yoga Institutions of world fame are functioning.

     The Government of Puducherry has been conducting the International Yoga Festival since 1993. After seeing the response and enthusiasm shown by the participants from all over the world and from India, the Government of Puducherry has been conducting the festival regularly every year from 4th to 7th January.  The Yoga Festival for the year 2025  is its 30^th Edition and will be conducted from 04.01.2025 to 07.01.2025 at Puducherry.

     The festival starts with registration of delegates on 4th of January 2025 at Convention Centre, Old Port Premises, Puducherry and there will be an official inauguration followed by a cultural programme on the same day evening.  The programme consists of discourse/workshop on various topics on Yoga, Yogasana Competitions for various age groups both men and women, Lecture Demonstrations and Cultural programmes from 5th to 7th January. The final round of Yogasana competitions and Champion of the Meet is the most interesting part of festival which will be held on 07.01.2025 forenoon and its valedictory & prize distribution function will be held on the same day evening.

     In the overall the festival aims at the development of conscious process at physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels and completeness in every aspects of life.

How to Apply?

     Delegates who want to participate in the various features can apply through ‘Online registration’ (see below ‘Apply’) or Download the application and send it to the following address. Competitors are requested to fill the correct age and it subject to verification at the venue if required. The online registration is only provisional and participants should appear in person at the venue on 04.01.2025 for confirmation and collection of Registration kit. Accommodation will be arranged for the participants on 04.01.2025 as per their registration. The date and time of the Workshops / Demonstrations will be provided with the Registration kit.

     The delegates will be provided boarding and lodging at free of cost during the festival period. The observers will make their own arrangements for their stay during the festival. The participants residing in Puducherry will not be given accommodation.
